Can't find them in the south end anywhere. Just fished an 8-9ft hole by my place and caught squat. Underwater camera showed a half dozen perch when I first set up and then then they got spooked. Gonna try on a high activity date and time and I'm hoping some crappie show up.

Haven't touch the north end or the river. I suspect there would be some decent fishing around Boyd Island but I haven't been up that way yet. Waiting for some colder temps before I wish the west side of the island.

I've fought with pigeon trying to ice fish it for 4 years, its a b####, its not even worth the hassle when you can go to rice and hammer perch if you know spots

I live on Pigeon and Iím also trying to crack the winter code on it.
Definitely cracked the summer code no problems there.
I think itís just a big body of water that can have its challenges.
Someone on here must have some ice fishing info on it.
Maybe they could PM us some info to keep it private.
Iím willing to share some summer info in a PM.
Oh ya welcome aboard!!

I'm going to keep trying. Would like to have a small community of people with huts in a good area. I'm sure anyone who has found the fish will likely remain tight lipped about it. I'll keep drilling holes in the south end until I find them!

New to this forum as well, joined to comment on this.

I fish the south end and have had very little luck, I've only seen a few huts out this year but I'm out there trying new spots whenever I can.

Last weekend was a very busy weekend for sleds heading north on the lake, with the lack of trails around pigeon it seems to be the highway north for everyone.

Itís a massive lake that you can only fish for sunfish on. Itís just not popular or easy. Thereís other lakes that are better.

Itís like Balsam. No one out on in balsam in winter.

Hey everyone.

New to the forum as well and did a search on Pigeon Lake and found this topic/thread.

I have a cottage on Pigeon Lake so I try to ice fish it whenever I can. I too find it super challenging. I've had some luck but majority of the time I've been skunked. I like the idea of starting a community for it. I'm willing to share any info I have (hard water/open water).

Would be nice to meet new people on the ice and have fun fishing and just have a great time!

Tight lines everyone!

Cheers!

It looks like we are all trying to crack the code.

We just bought Paradise Island this year and have spent some time out there this winter, we have punched some holes and not had any luck, we have landed a few OOS fish but have yet to find any panfish. i would be happy to get together with a few others on the lake and see if we can at least figure out the winter patterns on this lake and if we can't find the fish a couple cold Beers is a pretty good consolation.
Being new to the Lake i would love hear some of the history in this area of the Lake.
Cheers to all.

Once the cottage is winterized it will be great spot for Beers around the fire if the fishing is slow.

Seems like a good idea to me. I grew up a bit south of you on the lake and enjoy the odd story and pint.

I do some waterfowling up where you are but I stick to fishing the far south end. Hopefully going to get out a few more times on the hardwater to try to locate wherever the pans go in the wintertime.

Was out at the island over the weekend and did a little fishing, we set up in 8 feet of water over a weedbed. for a few hours in the afternoon into the evening.
A few random perch, an OOS Largemouth and an OOS Walleye and we seen 2 different Muskie cruising around scaring off all the pan fish, both 40+.
The Walleye had a huge S shaped spine almost curled like a snake. it was pretty strange looking, the fish looked healthy and thick though.
I am hoping to be out with the kids over the March break.
