Nice haul there jerkbaiter, do the red eared sunfish taste the same as a bluegill ? I’ve never tried that variety but I like bluegill, even more than crappie.

Thanks, Yep, the sunnies are tasty, especially taken from the cold water

Nice pile of fish you caught enjoy your dinner. Got up here at 5pm fishing by 6pm gave up at 10pm just small crappie not big enough to keep. Crappie fishing tomorrow from sun up until sunset. Just need 10 or 20 so the family will be happy. If I don't catch any I guess I sleep in the barn. LOL

Did you get to Balsam JB?
Hi WF, We ended up going toMitchell Left town at around 8 am and started fishing around 10 am It was nice chilly morning with light breeze so the fish cooperated until around 12 pm when the wind from W changed to N/NW and picked up speed so the fishing became much tougher with dropping temps Got about 15-16 pikes between three of us but only one decent size around 5 lb the rest were mainly 1-2 lb hammerhandles but still fun to catch We also got 3 nice OOS largies (all quickly released )and one nice crappie All fish was caught on 3-4” suspended jerkbaits fished slowly with long pauses in 5-7 FOW Good laugh and good times with friends and hot freshly brewed coffee kept us warm on pretty cold day .
