Hey folks! been Noticing my start up on my pin bin kinda crappy, been on the tribes now for over 20yrs and have had a few different reels. Instead of buying a new one was thinking about changing the bearings out to the abec 7s. Has anyone done this is it worth it does it make it like new? or time for a new reel again?

Thanks

I have never changed out a bearing but I think if it is pressed into place, I would take it to a pro for service. I believe Hook , line and sinker in Guelph does maintenance work on float reels.

I switched the bearings on my okuma raw ii. I went with the abec 7s also. Pretty easy process on that reel. I didn't need to use a press. I think my fingers were enough. YouTube is your friend. I actually didn't enjoy them as much as I wanted to. The start up was better but the spinning was a little much. I found myself having to slow it down more than I wanted and it became a minor nuisance. Still worth the upgrade. Enjoy them.
