I'm getting really pumped for the bass opener in another week. This is the first time I've gone to the Bay for opening week. I've stayed at Merland Park Cottages before, but never this early in the season. I'm looking forward to the topwater bite of the early season, also hoping to miss the migration of shad into the Bay for a change.....most of my previous trips have been in the middle of the migration and the bass just weren't very cooperative because there was just so much to eat at that time. Good times are coming!!!

pumped as well, trying to balance work and bass season this year will be a little tricky. Rigging my rods and watching the bassmaster classic weigh ins currently. Have fun on the bay I imagine it will be a zoo with bass champs running the first time in 3 years.

They'd just better stay out of my way come that Monday afternoon when I get there. I'm not holding back the hammer on the throttle!!!

Same here. On the other hand, I am so ready and all rigged up. Cannot wait.

I've had to move my trip back a week so I'll miss the first week of bass season there. After careful consideration of numerous weather sites and my own research, the winds (20-40mph) on Monday and Tuesday will just be too much for my little bass boat. Hopefully the winds will subside by the following Sunday when I get there.
