Well after grabbing one of Shanks member specials and moving the date around COVID and schedules and weather we finally got out this morning. Met just before 7 am and out we went. Once out and set up we had two small ones on in minutes. The kids were in awe. We made our way out with our Captain telling us what he was looking for in depth and temperature. Was all new to me as primarily an ice and creek fisherman.

Then we hit a bigger one. After that we were on fire with the two kids and the wife taking turns. We could not keep the all the lines in it was so crazy. Shank kept his cool and navigated and coached the family into landing fish after fish. I don’t know how he keeps up with it! Sure we lost a few but we landed many and had a great time with our new friend.

Caught a few more on our way in and just as he said as we were cleaning the last few fish the winds picked up like clockwork. However our cooler was full and we were well on our way to the dock.

We were blessed with fantastic conditions, a healthy bite and a knowledgeable host. I would recommend his service to anyone and especially those that are novice or with a family.

Thank you for making a great day for my family happen. You are a true fisherman and gentleman Shank! It’s a day we will not forget.

Dave and family.

Well, I was looking forward to this outing since February and it finally happened.

Decision was made last night to forego chasing the mature salmon and focus on the young ones getting into just decent fish.....took a little time to find the water and rods started firing on a very active bite....for well over an hour or more I had a minimum of 3 rods not in the water........got to love that problem

It was a mix of bows, cohos and kings, just what I was looking for as with a family it's all about action.....

We got away from the pack and just kept going in one direction, into the current for 6 miles and when down temps went up we slowed down a bit and turned back

I was super impressed with the young ones as they picked up the rod handling very quickly and they landed very decent fish by themselves....The whole family was a treat to have out there

my 3 criteria for that perfect charter were met today. great company, great fishing and great weather

we packed up just as the winds switched to north east and it wasn't long before dead flat was whitecaps, but we were tied up at the dock

for the morning we went 14 for 21 or something close to that.....I lost track

Dave....thanks so much for going out with me.....I had a blast

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Kids are still talking about it today with wide eyes. Son says it was the best day fishing ever! I forgot to post the big fish of the day. I just happened to take a rod that time. What a battle. My pb for sure.
