I might have breezed through some of it, but still had my beer cracked open waiting for a big wally or jumbo. Next time...

Thanks for doing what you do.

QUOTE (kenster @ Mar 05, 2021 - 08:27 am)
Certainly been a slow season on the North shore for perch.Maybe a low in the cycle imo

Yeah, I keep hoping they are just somewhere else in the lake. But it has been quiet on the perch front for me me this year.

Let's hope this week's broadcast brings some better luck. That was rough but at least I tried some different turf.

Not thinking things are going to change on the perch front as three of the best anglers I know have had poor to non existent perch catches in the last month despite many location changes from 14-30'.

My brother would always tell me its a big lake and they were somewhere else, But i'm inclined to believe in cycles. It was no coincidence when they changed the limit to 50 that it was the best year ever and now it doesn't matter because you wouldn't catch 25. Some might say they were all caught because of the higher limit but i still say its cyclical.

I'm gonna say they're still there. Numbers might be down, but all year classes don't just drop off the face of the earth.

Couple years ago the perch bite was real slow all winter. Then they showed up in March. They were there in Jan./Feb., too.. just weren't being caught.

It's been a blast watching your reports. I'm wondering what this hot weather has done to that snow and ice. Do you think it will freeze up for Saturday? I'm debating on bringing the snow machine out or just walk it out there if it don't freeze up. Hope it don't rain, we're having a thunderstorm here by Simcoe.

Sorry to disappear for a bit. It always takes me a while to defrost from the ice season. Here's a few updates.
Here's a surprise live stream I did the other day. No fish but a relaxing trip on the canoe.
