I ended up finding a better way to store my auger without the grizzlys, sonwill find a use for them on my boat.

Mind sharing a picture of what you decided on? Always good to have more ideas.

Sure... the fence boards I use as my deck on my smitty hook my clam plate perfectly. Bungee over the bit and itís secure and quick to access. Next mini project is to make a Velcro pocket that goes over the drill to keep it from the elements, and warm. I hear the batteries do fine in the cold, but no harm in adding some padding.

Thanks, I've seen this mod on the iceshanty forum. Used an old antifreeze bottle. Rain/wet snow if what i always worry about.

This is what I mounted on the back of my sled...
A little pricey, however, solid build and no bungees to loose or break.

Figured I should share this as itís been something I have been looking for. After looking at the expensive brand name versions, and deciding they were just too costly, I happened across these beauties while grabbing some other stuff at Princess Auto today.

I will need to pull out my smitty to see where they fit best, and will likely modify them to mount on with wood screws rather than the screw down clamps. Now for the best part... not 60, 80, or 120 bux... how about $9.99?!

The brackets are even made of steel, not crappy plastic! Super sturdy construction.

Though some others might like to grab a set while they are still available.

I was a the Dixie store today and I noticed they had 5 or 6 more of these on the shelf, these ones are hanging off of a hanger on the first rack of the surplus section right in the middle at eye level. Don't know if the price is still the same or not.
