Things seem to be looking up a bit. Maybe some of the smaller bays have frozen?

Maybe DB has already gone fishing on his 'back lake"??

Thee are way too many BIG and small lakes in "District Municipality of Muskoka", so we might have to a bit more specific on which/what particular lake?:-)

For example, yesterday (Saturday) I drove passed a few lakes in Muskoka and Haliburton regions, and saw first-hand myself that some lakes are completely frozen over, some are still completely open water, and yet some are with quite some people ice fishing on....

The smaller lakes in the area have ice but Iíve experienced two different layers , 3-5 inch of white ice then an inch of water then two of inch of black ice , I have not been out on the big lakes

I went up to one of the bigger lakes in the area yesterday (Saturday).

Main lake still wide open. I fished one of the smaller bays which had 3-5" of black ice with a similar amount of frozen slush on top.

So, it really depends - bring a spud bar and poke around!
