Holy Moly my friends, now that I've put the boat in the water I cannot get any Walleye!! However while trolling my favorite little Walleye killer was surprised as hell to hook into a real nice spring Rainbow! What a weird start to the season. Upon cleaning the Rainbow I noticed she had still lots of loose eggs! I found this very unusual so late in the season. No wonder the Walleye are not hitting, they too are likely still spawning! Decided to go for some guarantee fish, the good old pike. They once again cooperated as I landed a dozen or so of the toothy critters.Bye for now, have a Crappie Day!

By the worn tail. Would guess that’s a stocker or an escaped Pen fish. Colour of the flesh and look sure looks like an escapee. Those pen rainbows have completely messed up systems. I have caught stocked pen reared Brookies 2 is weeks ago with loose roe and they are fall spawners.
