Holy Moly my friends, now that I've put the boat in the water I cannot get any Walleye!!
However while trolling my favorite little Walleye killer was surprised as hell to hook into a real nice spring Rainbow! What a weird start to the season. Upon cleaning the Rainbow I noticed she had still lots of loose eggs! I found this very unusual so late in the season. No wonder the Walleye are not hitting, they too are likely still spawning! Decided to go for some guarantee fish, the good old pike. They once again cooperated as I landed a dozen or so of the toothy critters.Bye for now, have a Crappie Day!

Aha -- no more shore-side conversations from other anglers and a good day on the water even without the walleye! Thanks for posting.

I'm glad I didn't trade the boat in for a pair of shoes! Lol

Nice rainbow, and very surprising, loose roe..

You never know what you are going to catch..

Glad the boat is fixed and you are enjoying this great weather.

Sweet deal Dale! I think that rainbow thought it was a walleye.

By the worn tail. Would guess that’s a stocker or an escaped Pen fish. Colour of the flesh and look sure looks like an escapee. Those pen rainbows have completely messed up systems. I have caught stocked pen reared Brookies 2 is weeks ago with loose roe and they are fall spawners.

Enjoy the good eating. 👍

Good to see you on the water again and catching.

far as loose eggs go, I have got some bows in August spewing eggs. I guess some of them are just messed up like the rest of us

That's a pretty nice surprise in my books DB. It seems the fish put off their normal things and are behind just like we all are this year!
