Something tells me we'll have to mortgage the house for a dozen minnows soon.

Re: bait restrictions
There is nothing in the 2021 Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary to indicate this, so business as usual except for the unfortunate COVID restrictions.

I emailed the MNR a while ago and posted the answer in another thread but here you go.

Good Morning Arnie:

The new Bait Management Zones do not come into effect in 2021 - it is anticipated that this will be in 2022 or 2023. This change requires us to change regulations so this process can take considerable time. More detailed maps will be created and distributed prior to implementation. The zone boundaries follow existing Fisheries Management Zone boundaries (for the most part) - so for you in the south, the FMZ 16/FMZ15 border would be the border of the Southern BMZ and the Central BMZ - you can find FMZ boundaries here: https://files.ontario.ca/mnrf-fishing-regul...-2020-01-20.pdf . There won't be many situations where a water body is split in half by a BMZ. You will need to make sure that you are only using/harvesting bait that was captured in the same zone that you are using it in.

Hope this helps clear things up.

Cheers,
Scott
