I finally found a window of opportunity for fall perchin on Friday Oct 26. It was a bit warmer and a bit calmer then the fall days we recently had. Perch was on a feeding frenzy and this resulted in an all day action. There were about a dozen other boats around and i believe most if not all had their limits early on. I also wanted to give my new Eyoyo underwater camera a real field test for the first time and record some perch action. Getting the bait 25' down in front of the camera lens was quite challenging due to the chop above, but perch can be seen running towards the bait and following it upwards in groups. The water wasn't crystal clear so the footage is not as crisp as i would have liked, also i may need to improve my video editing skills....lol...but anyway here's the link to the video:

A good feed of perch there.
I think the perch will start moving to the shallower water soon.
The water gets colder, the wind dies down, and water gets clear.
I still want to go out and looking for jumbos. No winterizing till later in November!
The only problem with perch, I have to throw back about 20-25 before I got a keeper.

Most of the fish we caught were decent size, meaning worthwhile filleting/cleaning. I prefer eating perch between 8-10". Real jumbos are fun to catch but not the best eating in my opinion. We also had a few dinks but they weren't too many.

Last Sunday, lots of boats in cooks bay, but I didn't see much people catch much fish. Had a very difficult time to find perch that day. Weird
