Great feed back, thank you. I was supposed to come back to my real home yesterday but two of my friends called me. They wanted to go fishing so I stayed one more night. Now I am rushing around doing laundry and shopping and what ever else. We started at 7pm my one friend left by 10pm because he said there was no fish biting. He should have stayed at little longer. Lot's of fish after 10pm. No keepers but a dozen crappie around 10 inches and about 15 walleye that were 14 and 15 inches. My other friend had fun and so did I. That was the first time we fished together since last November. Time goes by to fast in this world, get out and enjoy life today. Good luck and stay safe.

Went fishing today for three hours. Not Kawarthas but why bother with a new topic.. No pike or crappie not even a rock bass or any pan fish. Was throwing crank baits into 7 feet of water. Caught 7 of these guys in a spot where I have only caught 1 there ever in 40 years. Weird day that's all I have to say is weird. Beautiful day very windy sunny with clouds. Here is a picture of the whale of the day. LOL.

Did you keep them to eat? They can be very good (esp. when the water's still cold - no muddy taste).

Nope we don't eat catfish. I have heard they are great eating by many people. The only fresh water fish I keep are crappie, walleye, bass, and the odd pike. Crappie being my favourite then walleye. I keep the bass and pike for the family BBQs. They just love bass over the fire and in the smoke.

I don't like the light never have. I have a prescription for tint on my glasses. Even my safety glasses at work are smoked silver lenses. I work nights and most of my fishing is at night. I wear sun glasses almost all the time. As for facial expression....I guess I take fishing way to serious....Always have.

Well done! Great report.

Thank you DB....I still say this is the year you catch that monster giant crappie you are looking for. I have noticed that the average size in the kawarthas is about two inches bigger than years ago. That means those 15 inch crappie are now 17 inches or more. We just have to find them and catch them, that's the only problem. Shouldn't be that hard.
