Heading up on Tuesday wondering if anyone has been in the park yet? Looking for bug report and rubbers or hikers for the portages? Any info would be appreciated.

Just got back from 4 days in the interior...not a single black fly or mosquitoe...I'd bet none by next weekend either.

Still small pockets of ice/snow in the thick bush, or north facing cliffs.
Some trail sections are definitely mucky...I'd recommend good 8" gore-Tex boots....

rubbers = no support and blisters, but dry feet, i'd only use if not going very far.

It's only about 10 days since ice-out, so conditions are still very 'early-season'. Need a few days of good sunshine to start up some bug hatches and get the fish more active.
