Spent 5 days in the park a couple of weeks back.
Caught Pinks, Coho, Chinook, Steelhead, Cutbow, resident Rainbow and Coaster Brookies.
Man the fishing was good. 3 days of rain to start and fresh fish coming in.
Fish to many rivers to list here but have to say the Michipicoten just out side the park near Wawa was impressive.
We also saw a big mature Cow moose no more than 40’ from me on a bank. She walked take at first then turned back into the Bush. We also saw a grey wolf right in the middle of the road. It walked off to the wood edge and watched us for a couple of mins when we pulled over.
My buddy and I caught to many fish to show so I will just post some of the different species and nice pics.
The Michipicoten is known for wild Chinooks and let me tell you they hit so hard it’s nuts. They average 6-8 lbs mostly but I managed what the folks local up there consider a giant at 15-16 lbs. It was the most amazing solid black colour but was full power with not a mark on it. It fought much harder than the Chrome Chinook I got.
Enjoy some pics.
