This is from the last nice windless day this fall on Erie over a week ago... WE got out fairly late and it was still busy, but the bite was on if you located the fish..

multiple hookups and I never saw so many bass with these spots....vertical jigging or casting with a tube or swammer did the trick

Great way to most likely end the season for Erie this year

I have never seen a smallie with those spots.

Interested if it just a DNA/gene thing or if it’s environmentally related?

Lovely bunch of bass there, and a beautiful day on top of it. If I hadn't already cleared the fishing gear out of the truck, I would have made the drive down there again that day. The boat's being winterized on Monday and put away for the season. There's always springtime!!

I wish I was out there today.....same tactics is producing bass/jumbo perch and walleye

Not a bad way to end the season at all
I’ve caught quite a few like that on Georgian Bay over the years. Sometimes they can have some pretty cool markings on them.
