I didn't have sound on, so since you said ontario i will assume it is. to me looks like he shot the lead bird only. country side looked like us to me. if it had been and in the right state i would have shot at the back 2 when they were lined up.

At 8:30 you can see 2 birds in the background . One far left and one far right . They seem full of life

I'm not looking for blame here..... In the field with movement, powder cloud, etc., I agree that it's not as easy as video "instant replay". Agreed.
At 8:15 he clearly hits the lead bird, which falls back to the left and away from the camera. The third (trailing) bird then jumps forward and flies to the lead (right).
In the blind, and in real-time, knowing "which is which" is pretty tough.

From what I see in the video looks like he took a crack at the lead bird and missed . Lead bird and one rear bird took off together far left .... other was ready for the fryer .

After all he got a bird .

Shot also could have been further then 40 yards or needs ex. Full choke for longer distance .

( he defiantly took a crack at 2 different birds )

From what I saw in slow motion he missed the lead bird all together. He shot the one stupid enough to stick around.

I think there had to be a second shooter on the grassy knoll
