So I finally pulled the trigger on a new vessel and ended up with the old town bigwater pdl 132.
Big upgrade from my previous yak, a bps ascend 12'. I've had a few trips out in it now, in waves that would have kept me on shore before, and this thing cuts through the water and keeps me fishing.
The pedal drive is a huge upgrade and makes getting to all those spots so much easier, especially in wind or current. I did a 15 km trip down the notty with fellow board member cousin hippie and my brother, and we lashed all our yaks together, me in the middle, and my yak carried all three of us downstream with ease.
I've picked up a few new scotty accessories for it as well, like an anchor lock, lake trollers, sounder Mount and rod holder. Haven't had a chance to try the lake trollers out yet, but I got plans for it next spring/summer up north.
