Someone has been busy the last two days. Nice fish and pictures and report. I am very jealous. Have not been fishing now in a week and it might be a few more before I can get away. So keep on taking those pictures so I don't forget what a fish looks like. LOL Too bad about the mosquitoes, maybe next time you are out, it will be a bit windy.

Thanks CM. I hope you get a chance to get out sooner than later. The bugs have been good so far so i cant really complain. I get reluctant to keep showing pictures as they often look like the same fish in different poses. I might wait until a get the 10 lber lol.

Excellent fishing weekend , Flexkk! Congrats and thanks for sharing the details.
Nice eyes and smallie

They definitely welcome the warmer and stable weather. Rocks and weeds transition areas are almost always good walleye producers.

We were once fishing a smaller lake in summer for walleye and there were three of us. One buddy was casting from the front of the boat to the weedy point , I was casting to the same point but from the middle of the boat into the deeper weedy area and the third friend was casting from stern to the adjacent weedy bay.

The first guy was getting three big walleyes almost every second cast, I got two small walleyes and the third friend was getting nothing. We were using pretty much the same lures.

When later in the day when the sun was overhead, we checked this point again , we found that the area the first buddy was casting to earlier that day and getting all the big ones was a combination of big chunks of broken rock mixed with cabbage weeds. ideal walleye habitat.

Thanks Jerkbaiter. Your experience is correct about the cabbage / rock transition being a walleye magnet, they seem to come out of the weed cover and roam the rocky area when the light level drops. I believe the stable warmer weather definitely has a lot to do with numbers of fish. I am slowly ,maybe getting these Kawartha gold figured out or really lucky. Either way it is fun ,even if 95% are let go. The MNR sure has the slot figured out. This way they can get bigger and reproduce

As far as bugs go, a couple bites is better than a sunburn for me. As far a the slot size, it does work as long as people follow it. I have addressed this a few times over the years, when I see people keeping the wrong size walleye. Talking to them has worked out fine about 14 out of 17 times. The other two times not so good. LOL. And for sure keep posting your pictures, stories and pictures is what this Forum is all about. I wish everyone would post their pictures. Some of my pictures have been terrible because of night or cold or wet or what ever, who cares. A good fish report is one thing, but a picture fills in the blanks. I have seen people post the same fish in a different picture before. I think that is funny.
