interesting facts if your into averages.
The overall average date is 28.1 days after March 31, thus April 28. The median (middle value of ranked dates) is also April 28.
The standard deviation is plus or minus 8.9 (or 9) days. The "average range" is by definition the statistical range between +1 and -1 standard deviations and contains 68% of all dates. The average range lies between April 19 and May 7.
Statistically, the "best guesses" for ice-off dates are between April 19 and May 7, with April 28 in the middle.
one of my best friends wise dad told me years ago, "averages don't mean much, In fact the law of averages states that if you have one foot frozen in a block of ice while the other is in a bucket of boiling water, you should be quite comfortable"

I'd say that will be close to ice off Jeff. Maybe even later if it stays cool. Fish Bay is solid, just crossed it this morning on my Skidoo although its getting softer. So if Fish Bay opens in 8 to 10 days from now, Hunters Bay is usually 7 to 9 days later, then the open lake is usually a week or so after that. That is close to a month from now.
