Great to be back out on the water and the motor ran flawlessly.

We were fishing by 8:30 and were marking fish and lots of bait. Nothing seemed to want to hit.

Tried various spoons and had the Freedom Herring Cut Bait out behind an Agitator flasher. Phil was trying trying various spoons. Fished from 30fow to 175fow.

Looked back at my Fish Log from various trips over the last 15 years and it reminded me that I had not used my Lyman--green/white with a black ladderback. Over the years I have caught a number of GB Chinooks on that particular lure--you should see all the teeth marks on it.

Within 20 minutes of putting it down, the rod fired at 100ft in 160fow. NIce battle from a silver 7.5lb Chinook. That was the only hookup all day. When I cleaned the fish, there was an added bonus, it was a female and I got 2 good skeins of eggs for river fishing later.

The fish has been vacuum sealed and frozen to be smoked at a later date.

It would have been nice to get more fish, but a least it wasn't a "skunk".

Hope to get out a few more times before I have to put the boat away.

Tried Collingwood this morning, lots of baitfish, no bigfish, just a nice skunky boatride.

Glad you got out---and back!

It must have given you a sense of satisfaction to see an 'old trick' work once again.
