QUOTE (magnum0x @ Jan 15, 2019 - 10:05 pm)
Thanks...I understand the argument over catch and release...I've been winter fishing Lake Nipissing for 22 years ...over 900 walleye,my largest up until last week was 3lbs...So catching those two fish with my son within a 1/2 hour was one of the fishing highlights of my life..the 28" 8#er is getting mounted and the 5 1/2#er male was delicious...if the slot was different it would have gone back.

Just curios over how many days and how many fishers, I coming to the nipissing next week. Getting pumped.

No harm done on keeping a legally caught fish. Like you mentioned you spent 22yrs and never caught anything over 3lbs. With all the time and money spent throughout all the years you finally get rewarded. Damn right you're gonna mount that nice one for memories and the other im sure was delicious! People fish for sport, others fish to consume. Lets just leave it like that as long as you're within the legal limits.

Fishfearus that was 6 days and my sons numbers were pretty much the same...most were caught first 2 days then a cold front moved in...1/4oz. white jig head with minnow or a pink buckshot glow took most of them....also 6 smallmouth...Someones got to be jigging all the time !!!

Looks and sounds like you had a great trip magnumOx, to have your son there to share the excitement with you makes it all that much better

Well done and thanks for sharing.
