Wanted to get out for what may be my last outing in the kayak for the year. Was hoping to coax a few fall bass feeding up to coming out for some pictures.
Weather report was looking cool with some strong winds, but was hoping that they would be better than forecast.
On the water a little after sun up - water had a bit of chop and winds were ok to start. Managed to boat a few decent bass and a walleye right off the bat - good start and hoping that things continue... Had a muskie bite me off before getting it to the boat - losing out on the Sturgeon cycle. Doubt that's the official term for it (one of each of the big four species), but I've been watching MLB playoffs and it seemed as good at term as any...
Unfortunately, as the morning progressed the winds and wave got progressively worse. Toughed it out for quite a while, but kayak fishing was tough in these conditions. Decided to come in off the water a little after 1pm.
