Hello all,

I just need information in these areas I've went to the Maintland and the Bayfeild river in search for salmon and I haven't seen a single fish there yet. all the other tributaries On lake Ontario and lake Huron have had fish moving through them since early September. One gentelman told me they wont get salmon in bayfeild till late october is that true of will the salmon start running there soon. I have made about 3 trips up there which is a 2 hour drive with no luck im not looking for locations just a general guide as to when to start fishing these two river system for salmon and trout.

thanks,

Bayfield river is not much of a river until we get some serious rain or the ground begins to harden. Where the river meets the lake water is literally a trickle. Fish physically cannot move into the system. Been there and seen a few salmon give it a try but end up on the rocks. Sux and sad too see. As soon as we get a good rain they will move in.
