They are referring to the Hummingbird Mega 360, similar to the Garmin Panoptix.

Thank-you! But that's just cheating IMO. What happened to just go fishing?

I used to fish without a finder. Always thought it was 'cheating'. Finally caved when ice fishing for lakers with a buddy of mine who had a finder. He caught 8, I caught 1. As long as your not stripping the lake of fish, a finder can be difference of a lousy day to a day on fire. And its also just more fun, getting a mark, ripping it as fast as you can away from it and the watching the fish just smash your lure.

A fishfinder is one thing this thing is something else. Underwater radar. What's next. i guess if you have the $$$ you can buy anything for fishing.lol

I use the original version of Panoptix and it's made me much more efficient at fishing. I don't waste time fishing areas without the potential for fish. It doesn't show me where every fish is in the lake, but gives me a clear picture of where rocks and weed edges are. I don't have unlimited time on the water, so for me it's well worth the price of admission. I want to be able to get out there and be as productive as possible. Having said that, even when it does show that fish are there for a certainty, there's no guaranteeing they'll bite, so it's still fishing. To each their own.

Wow, That's not really 'fishing'....it's catching....there's no guess work at all.

What's next? Maybe after you locate the fish with the 360, you throw small "quick lime' packets to 'shock the fish,' then just net the eaters....lol.

Guess I'm a bit old school after all.

Cheers,

Here's an example of a muskie guide using Livescope. This is pretty wild and will definitely turn off those of you who are 'old school'. It's in his stories so you have to have Instagram to view - and won't be available for too long

Ya sorry I wont be joining instagame but imo if you have to spend a ton on money and use that kind of technology to help you catch a fish to offset ones own lack of fishing skill and knowledge, so be it. good luck. next they will invent an ai fishing rod that catches the fish for you.

Wow, no need to get grumpy about it. You keep fishing your way, I'll fish my way. Part of the enjoyment of getting on the water for me is playing with toys - whether it be boat or fishing related. As I said, to each their own. Not very mature of you to assume I lack fishing skill and knowledge, but hey, show your colors.

For those interested in seeing Livescope at work I screen recorded and added to my drive. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NITgXcfMHZ...ew?usp=drivesdk

Only a no skill hack would use a fishing rod to catch fish.
If you were a real fisherman you would use nothing but your bare hands and swimming ability to chase them down and catch them.
