Well, I thought I'd share this here since I may not be the only one who didn't know this. zone 14 (basically all of Georgian bay) actually includes some rivers coming off of the bay. I figured I'd post this here because I always look for exceptions for regulations in zone 15, not 14...Meaning there were regs I wasn't aware of when it comes to, first of all, year-round trout fishing, second of all, certain closed seasons in some spots.

I can't and wouldn't name the rivers as some of them are very small, but I thought I would give anyone who doesn't know a heads up. Most of the rivers off the bay are in 15, but a few are actually in 14... I was very close to assuming a river was in 15 and it didn't appear in the exceptions anywhere, so I figured it was good to fish on the opener in zone 15. But nope, it's long-closed by then actually.

Anyway, I hope any of this wasn't too specific. I just wanted to put this out there because, at first glance, all of zone 14 ends at the bay, and past that is all 15. Turns out it's never that simple with these regs lmao. I would never go out with intentions to break the regs, but I almost did so without even knowing it, so just keep this in mind yall.

Tight lines this spring (wish me luck for my first steelhead, been trying for a few seasons now. I have a salmon on the board, so the silver bullets are next )

Good idea to always check 14 and 15 regs and cross reference for exemptions on any rivers or tributaries coming off Georgian bay. Great advice Donny!

There are maps showing boundaries but they are a bit hard to find on the MNR site.
