Tie hook on end of line, then put bait on hook, then put the whole thing in the lake. Its where I'd start. You can get fancier, but that's pretty much covered the basics.

I've been reading your post over the years.
You seem to have a good grip on it.
No changes over the years.
The lake has not drained.
Year after year the fish are in the same locations
