Looking for a bit of advice on launching somewhere in the GTA to fish off the Toronto waterfront for Salmon and Lakers etc. Coming from Barrie area, with a 20 foot boat. Looking more for advice on marina that isnít pure insanity like the Barrie waterfront on a Sunday with a shorter trip to the fishing grounds that doesnít take me directly into downtown Toronto.

Also perhaps a general start in this many feet of water approx this far from shore if someone is willing to offer some counsel. Clearly not expecting a GPS position or what lures to use or how far to drop down the ball, I enjoy the hunt and changing it up till I find what works.

Any help would be very much appreciated, only really have the one day to get down there and give this a try.

Prominade park is good parking coming from Barrie to launch out of.

Be on the water by first light is my rule and many others.

First light right now I have been fishing between 80-120 FOW but that can change as the fish stage.

I have been having luck 40-50 feet down on the cannon ball and shallower on the dipseys. A ton of good info about this on other posts if you scroll down and read a bit. 👍🏻

I could be way off here, but isn't there a requirement for a harbour license if launching or fishing between the Humber and Bluffers Park?

The Harbour licence is required in the Toronto Harbour.

Prominade park is not in the Harbour.

That is correct. I have this Toronto harbour permit and it's required if boating in the perimeter zone (see pic below).

And btw, there is no boat launch in Toronto harbour between airport island and port area (Toronto downtown waterfront), nearest being Humber river and Ashbridges.

Good luck with your trip!
