Mine is Wavewalk S4 model with a Yamaha 2.5Hp far out on Lake Erie hunting Walleye.

This dingy has a solid transom were I mount depending on needs:

80Lb Minkota or
101 Lb Minkota or
3.5 Hp Tohatsu or
6 HP Yamaha.

The old Yamaha 2.5Hp is too weak, I sold it already.
Max sped with 6HP is 20km/h in calm water.

Here is my new kayak and set up.

Hey Steve.
Thats a sweet Yak. I have a Hobie Pro Angler 12.

Can you take a photo of the transducer mount. I am interested to see if it is hull protected like the Hobie.

If you google it there are lots of videos on installing a transducer and cable routing options. It is protected and has a hole for the transducer cable so no drilling.

I have been lurking for a while and just signed up for the sight. I thought I better make a post.
I have a Wilderness Systems Radar 135, with peddle drive, Helix 5. I love this thing! Very comfortable. I'm a bit of a handy guy and enjoy doing my own modifications....I think the kids call them "hacks".
I'm looking to get out on the Lake Erie/Huron this season and try some deeper water trolling for steelhead/salmon/walleye...never done that.
I will be watching this board.

Good looking yak. Nice and low to the water, easy access to the helix. What's your average speed you. Maintain while peddling?

^^^Thanks. That seat has a "high" and "low" position. High position is better for peddles. I don't have the peddles installed in this photo. If I remember correctly, an easy peddle to keep about 2 to 2.5 miles and hour.

That's about what I have found as well. I have a old town bigwater / predator peddle yak and I can cruise at about the same. Really given er I can hit 6 mph but it is unsustainable at that speed.

I like that you have two seat positions, keep it low during rough water or high up when you want a better vantage point.

How is it for standing up and fishing?

Welllll...the kayak is great for stand up fishing...but I'm not so great at it.
