I have booked for January 15th weekend. Anyone know what the outfitters are doing when it comes to cleaning the huts? I was informed that the one Iím with will clean with bleach. Anyone else hear any permanent restriction that have been set in place? Just curious...hope all is well...stay safe

Take a bottle of Lysol, Lysol wipes, or microsan with you and spray the hut yourself. That should cure any concerns you may have. Why rely on someone else when you can be sure if you do it yourself.

with more and more evidence showing covid spreads via respiratory droplets and not via contact surfaces all the cleaning in the world wonít prevent covid from spreading in close quarters. 8 guys from 8 diff households sharing an ice shack for a weekend doesnít seem like a good idea. 72 cases linked to 1 infected person at a hour long spin class this week that followed all the provincial guidelines.

We were trying to hold off for a bit on making a plan for the up coming ice fishing season, but with so many people asking and concerned , we will give it a shot. Are plan as of now is : Clean our ice condos as normal with the addition of more sanitizing. We encourage people to bring their own cutlery, plates, cups, glasses ect. We will still have all of the above + our normal pots and pans. We will be only transporting people of the same group at the same times in our sleighs. We will encourage people to try to show up at their desired time as a group so they won't have to wait as long for their ride to condos. Our 3 checks per day will be adjusted to 2 checks per day (morning and night) with no direct contact with groups. Our normal noon check will be changed to a call or text check only. Our staff will not be entering the condos for reasons other than emergency when they are occupied by our clients. If our staff have to enter the condo they will be wearing masks and will only enter if the clients have masks on or remove them selfs from the condo. We will only be accepting 1 group from the same condo at a time in our office with face coverings. We don't know as of now what or if there will be any government changes made to our plan to keep our clients and staff safe but if there is we will implement them at that time. This is a trying time for all and we hope we can make you forget about the outside world even if it is only for few days. Garnet and Cara-Lee: South Shore Ice Condos

This seems like a fantastic common sense approach. If people want to go the extra mile they can bring their own Lysol wipes etc.... No need to put your staff in the huts barring an emergency. Well done.

Thank you for your feedback on this, it is much appreciated. Of course we are going to bring our own cleaning supplies as well. It sounds like you guys are heading in the right direction when it comes to this. People have to remember, businesses also have to be able to stay open. Lets support our operators this year and stay safe doing it.

cheers and stay safe everyone..
