Haha so anyone see any good deals for a medium spinning rod and reel for finesse. They are buying a boat this winter and want to get them a finesse rod as I showed them how to use these lures and they caught alot more fish then normal. Looking to pay 150ish each for rod and reel if bought separate that's fine. They are use to crappy tire gear so anything's a upgrade

Any help would be great if you see some good deals. Thanks

I'd probably go with a lews mach 2 combo

https://www.amazon.ca/LEWS-Medium-Spinning-...=8-5&th=1&psc=1

I put a Pflueger president xt and a 13 fishing defy combo together a few years ago for probably $120 which would be the best bang for the buck but I took my time to find the best deal.

I imagine the lews mach smash combo is decent for the price point but have never tried it

https://www.amazon.ca/Lews-Mach-Smash-Speed...=8-4&th=1&psc=1

you can buy some of the lews combos at crappy tire but markup is like 200%

Well here is another recommendation for pflueger reels...I have four of them two on St. Croix rods and two on quantum rods. They are the very durable, I have never had a problem. The Presidents start at eighty dollars. As for rods, I only use one piece, so I am not much help there.

I actually run a pflueger president xt and a med light at Croix for my nedrig and absolutly love it that reel is a great reel for the price I can't see myself buying that rod for my parents though. My idea was to actually get that reel to be honest as . As the drag is great for bass fishing and casts a mile.

Anyone use the pflueger president none xt .

I've heard good things about Lew's I'll check them out

I bought a Pfluger president XT for my step-father last spring. Works very well with 10 bearings. Wait for them to go on sale at Cabela's. Great bang for the buck. I also picked up my step father a Fenwick HMG spinning rod it's a nice rod for the money. Glad to hear you are getting them into Fishing!

How about a shimano SLX 7" ml paired with a Sedona reel. Sweet set up in your price range.
