I cleaned out the pilot etc. Pilot is lighting but the back plate won’t light up. I have tried couple brand new tanks. Any ideas? Order a new one?

Thermopile probably failed.

If it failed, the pilot would not stay lit.

Ya the pilot stay lit but as soon as I try to put to low or high it goes out and the ceramic doesn’t light. Usually it lights, glows and then I put to low or high.

Nope, the thermocouple is fine. The flame isn't even touching it. There's little chance it will generate enough volts to pull in the solenoid. Cleaning the pilot orifice and venturi is what ya really need to do.

Yes, what duxx said, should be a blue flame only, no yellow. There's probably a tiny bit of dirt or remains of a tiny spider in there.

Exactly
If the thermopile is weak.it will not produce enough millivolts to open the main valve.

Can you get the regulator out of the unit..then hook propane to it to see if it's going past there.. Not sure if this is an option though..
