What are the chances that the lockdown will end on Feb 11 in the North Bay area. Maybe then some of the operators can hopefully salvage a bit of a season. I am sure they must really be hurting because of this lockdown.

Regardless if it ends or not I WILL be coming back up before the end of the season. We are allowed to travel anywhere in Ontario as long as the trip is less than 24h and covid guidelines are followed.
Let's hope it does in fact end so the operators can try to salvage an already short season.

Just called local OPP this morning and all is good to travel to and from for the day. Fishing in my own flip over. I’ll be staying at my friends cottage alone 30 m away so I’ll be fortunate to fish a few days heading home Saturday.

Just to clarify, one of the guys on another board questioned the bs story from the OPP that you had to go home each night even if the hut was your own. Just Got this reply from the Aylmer MNR office
Good morning, Dan. Thanks for your email seeking clarification about ice fishing during the Stay-at-Home order. Hopefully the following information will be helpful.
Under the Stay-at-Home order a person is required to remain in their place of residence and only leave their home for purposes permitted under the Stay-at-Home order, including:
· Obtaining food
· Exercise
· Exercising an Aboriginal or treaty right as recognized and affirmed by the section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. Ice fishing huts should be treated the same as indoor gatherings and only be used with other members of your household. There are new restrictions on the rental of ice huts. Ice hut may only be rented to a person if the hut will only be used by members of the same household and the hut will not be used overnight.
If a person owns their own ice hut, they can stay overnight.

North Bay Public Health Unit advises that North Bay will drop down to the Red Zone as of February 16th. The only announcement the Government will make is if this will NOT happen. So it is na go for operators to open Feb 16 unless an announcement is made before then.
