Went up to Nip this weekend with a buddy and our sons. Stayed with Chalkley's and it was great. After 5 years on the ice, there's definitely something to be said for a shower and a toilet after a day on the ice. We had ok fishing the first day, ok the second, and pretty steady fishing the third. overall caught probably about 15-20 perch, 20-30 walleye (2 keepers - my first 2 keepers ever), and surprise visits by 3 silver bass. Mostly productive were Swedish Pimples in chartreuse and orange, orange buckshots, and purple glow shot. The keepers were taken on the Nip special - split shot and treble with a good minnow; and a white 1/8oz jig head with a 3" white twister tail. I lost a big one on a #5 fire tiger rippin rap. Rod just didn't have the backbone for a good hookset.

Kids had a blast and can't wait to go next year!
