Hey there,

Heading up to Nipissing this coming weekend, and I am just looking for some clarification on what can be kept in term of walleyes.

Nothing between 43cm-60cm can be kept, or 16.9"-23.6"?

Id just like to be sure before the weekend.

Thanks in advance,

Tight lines

Nipissing they have to be over 46 centimeters which is 18.1 inches, nothing under is allowed to be kept. I believe the limit is 2 fish in your possession with a sport licence and 1 fish in your possession with a conservation licence, someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes that would be what I’m looking for. I’m down on St Clair and not use to the northern regs.

Thank you chevy

Good luck to you and your crew Gmann, if you get a couple of keeper walleye consider it a bonus but a few jumbo perch along with a decent size pike and burbot still make for a good fish fry while you are up there.

Good Luck this weekend. What we do to be sure of a fish fry is bring a bag of walleye from the summer. Beats not having a fry! Tight lines

Yes, thanks fish magnet, I will keep that in mind. But we also have a 12 fish limit between guys, so that won’t be a problem. But distinguishing brought fish with caught fish and size, that is a different story. Didn’t think of that or what implications that may cause. Hmm, now you got me worried about bringing fish. Jeez

Go to the supermarket and buy your fish. You can buy all you want, these fish do not need to have part of the skin on it to identify species. No limit on quantity of fish. No slot size. All about the money. Quite the double standard on fish caught and fish purchased. Might want to keep the receipt. Good luck on your fishing adventures.
