Well it's that time of year again. Who's heading out for the closer? Hopefully going to get out both days this weekend.

Doing a bungalow weekend.. Finally. We do one every year. This year almost didn't happen. Talk started back in Nov. Then 5 guys became 3, then 2. Then for a number of reasons by buddy couldn't make it work.

This weekend we are making it work. Booked yesterday. Better late than never.

I'm also doing a bungalow this weekend, my first time fishing Nipissing. Hopefully we have a good weekend, at the very least it will be a good time for the 4 of us going. Any tips for a Nipissing rookie?

A couple of buddies made a last minute call and went up last weekend. First timers in the on ice bungalows, said they had a blast and the fishing was stellar.

Good luck to all heading out for the last kick at the can....tight lines

Something of a noob myself. Only fished the big Nip for the first time ever last year and to date have not used an operator. Your host would the go to in my mind as they typically have tons of and many years worth of knowledge. For what it's worth jigging a 1/3 to 3/8 oz Swedish Pimple, Little Cleo or Do-Jigger tipped with a 3 inch shiner has never failed me.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Any tips for a Nipissing rookie?

Shiner on a jig head, 6 inches off the bottom. Have fun!

I'm going to try to get out for a little bit this weekend. I got out yesterday with the family for an hour and my wife caught a nice 20" walleye within 5 minutes. Classic.

Lotsa die-hards out this wknd. Conitions weren't ideal, especially closer to shore. But guys were making it happen.

Was an eventful one for sure. Bite was better Friday than Sat., but they were on. 80km winds Fri. night and no snow pack around the hut made things interesting. I loved every damn minute of it!

Will post a report later.
