Got out on the water today for bass and Crappie, caught 2 little smallies but around 5:30 it was Crappie O'clock so we moved in and started nailing them! I caught around 16 and my buddy got 4 or 5.

Congrats on crappie success! I wish I had a clue where to "move in"
Lol it probably depends on the lake but where I've been fishing is 15' and near shallower water. I'm using a drop shot with a white curly tail grub. Found the spot last year because somebody was launching their boat when we were about to leave. We started catching Bluegill right near the ramp and I was was like "if there are bluegill here I bet there are some Crappie too" sure enough right after I said that I had a Crappie on.

Very nice fish you caught, best fish to eat I think. Crappie are my favorite target. Most of my fishing is done at night, I love the way the silence breaks when a big crappie fights in the dark. You cant see it until its right on you. Good luck on your next trip out...stay safe.
