I be questioning the dictionary meaning for numbnutts . Obviously these writers are not chrome hunters after that perfect spot for the optimum drift

Numbnuts (nuhm-nuhts) Noun 1. The stupidest of the stupid. A complete dumba**, one whose intelligence quotient does not surpass that of the average rock.

Standing in freezing water kind of equates to doing something questionable

I believe its valid word used to express the fact that it's Nov/Dec and you've waded in to a depth just over your butt, and you have a hole in your waders crotch area.

According to the Urban,

numb nut
1. Lacking intelligence.
2. Having no feeling in one's nut.
1. Get you head out of the oven, numb nut.
2. That ice will give you a numb nut.
