Hey guys, me and my buddies do an annual weekend in the Dennis Johnston Ice Bungalows. The fishing is always very slow. We are looking to switch it up this year to an outfitter that really focuses on putting us on/near the fish. I see that Snowfari has new ownership since 3 years ago. Has anyone been with them since? After talking to the owner they seem to really care about helping you find fish. Any other recommendations?
Of course I understand it depends on how hard we are fishing, among other things as well.

It doesn't matter what place you go to, all have slow times and good times. It's always in the best interest of the operator to put you on fish. A happy customer it's a returning customer. What I look for is customer service, clean huts a warm huts. I have been to a bunch on nip and now I only book with one... South River Resort...
best expect it to be slow at Nip and if it's not, be very happy. If you want to catch lots of fish you can't keep, you'll have fun if you hit a school. if you want fish big enough to keep and eat, go to the Bay of Quinte, 1st ice is the best, lots of spots to choose from.

Although Quinte has some great fishing, there aren't any bungalows to rent and fish out of and that is the allure of Nipissing in my books
As far as catching fish, I have never had a bad outing there and most of the time wind up with 60 plus fish over 3 days and that is fishing inside. don't think I have fished outside for 14 years as there is no need to
presentation is everything there as is timing
for OP, that company has come a long way, so it's good that you are doing some research

My group went with Chilly Willys last year an on an off the past couple years, the fishing is decent, we’ve caught most of our monsters with him, just on a minnow, well priced outfitter an the huts are great, he was planning on upgrading his lights, hopefully he got to it
