Decided to head north and do a bit of scouting to see how the ice was coming along. Mostly open water but found a couple shallow protected areas that had safe ice. Heres a good reason to spud every step of the way.

BUSTED!! Just kidding, I even drove my truck straight in to the bushes so it couldn't be seen from the road lol. I actually thought about ice fishing in Algonquin as Saturday was closing day for splake there, but last time we had November ice in Algonquin an angry park ranger gave me the boot. Why they close splake there for the winter remains a mystery to me. Heaven forbid they should generate some extra revenue in winter. But I guess that's another topic.
