Heading up this weekend to South shore and wanted to know if I should prepare to walk it out or take the truck on the ice. Heading out about 5km from shore. Thanks!

Was out last weekend and it would depend on whether you are staying on established trails or not. I rode from Fish Bay Marina to Cross Point and back (+/- 20 km each way) on the sled and once you are past the end of the established trails a truck would be a bad idea. There was a variable crust/ice layer with anywhere from 3 to 12 inches of slush below. Some places the crust would not even support foot traffic. At speed on the sled it was fine - just made sure i stopped in good places.
