I am not a mechanic and was having some starter issues with my old ATV.
The bike ran fine one day. Over night I charged the battery and the bike would not start and just merely click from behind the battery the next day. A neighbor told me it sounds like my selonid switch has died. I changed that still nothing. The headlights still worked fine.
I then changed the starter motor. The neutral light would be on. I hit the start. I would hear a click and the neutral light would go out and it would not come back on for a 1/2 hour or so. The headlight would no longer work.
The ATV is on an Island so it is a challenge to get it to a dealer.
I checked the fuses and the charge level of the battery. Got out the wiring schematic and I think my connections are good.

Do you have a multi meter to test the voltage on the battery? Sure sounds like a battery issue. The clicking would be the solenoid picking up so it should be ok. The neutral light going out and no headlight points to battery. Is the new battery the same voltage as the old one? Are the positive and negative terminals oriented the same as the old one? Most likely in the middle so that should be ok. Double check the positive terminal feeds the solenoid then the starter.

I agree with the battery being the problem ...did you try to boost the bike ? My battery has calved like that both times ….fastest way to test the battery is to boost if it spins the starter you have your answer.

The charger itself could be the problem which has lead to the battery being now no good and not able to hold a charge try boosting as said earlier it’ll tell you
