The gut and chuck fools try to squeak around the actual regulation.
Word for word from the regs. 👇

It is illegal to:
“ • Abandon fish or permit the flesh to spoil, if the fish is suitable for human consumption.”

The way the gut and chuck crew get around this is that the guide to eating Ontario sport fish lists large species of Salmoniod species as Black (do not consume). There used to be another regulation say it was illegal to molest fish which covered gut and chuck and milking but I didn’t see that reg in the 2020 regs. Maybe it was removed?

Saw 2 guys hammering the heck out of trout and milking them one after other at Niagara a few years back. Boys had a cooler full of ziplocks with eggs. Seemed kinda messed up to me but as long as its legal...

Well after school tdy went out one last time for salmon before going into full steelie mode. Not much going on in the rivers. Caught a bunch of beat up males and one nice female. As soon as I took her out she was pumping eggs and so I got a bag under her and no squeezing even needed. Just cured em in in brown sugar and borax and got em ready for the steelies.
