Hey all, like many people my plans have changed this year. I will be on the lake for the winter and thought it would be a perfect time to try and get some Crappie through the ice.
I have had some success during soft water and there is also a "spot" near my place where boats stack up for crappie during Spring, Summer and Fall.
Should I be trying near this "spot" will they be near where they are the rest of the year?
From what i've read dusk and early morning seem to be the best times is this correct?
Lastly, should I be getting minnows or just use scented crappie jigs?

I fished stony in summer for crappies with success but never through the ice The water is clear there so I am sure they will be biting at dawn , dusk and at night I used glow jigs with scented plastics and also minnows on set line nearby when I was fishing for them last year at night (but on a different lake ) I would try 16-30 fow basin area and near fast drop offs Good luck!
