Ontario Family Fishing Events
Introduce a friend to fishing!
Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario waters without the otherwise mandatory fishing version outdoors card. The Ontario Government designates two periods throughout the year as license-free, February 17-19, 2018 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Monday) and June 30-July 8, 2018 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday). During all other time periods, Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.

There has never been a better time to introduce a friend to fishing!

There is little advertising from the province as far as I know. The OFAH and Tackleshare do some I know!

Does anyone know if this is for non-residents or tourists as well? I have a buddy up from Australia who probably wouldn't mind saving a few bucks.

I believe "license free" is for residents only.
Non-residents can buy a one-day license if they are just going out once. No idea of the cost.

This is for Canadian residents ONLY. And per MNR Recreational Fishing Regulations's definition: A Canadian resident is one whose primary residence is in Canada AND who has lived in Canada for a period of at least six (6) CONSECUTIVE months during the 12 months immediately before applying for a licence.
