I know it has been only 3 days since the last post in this thread, but I'm wondering if there are any reports good or bad on the water level.
I found this on another site which sounds positive -

WATER LEVEL GOING DOWN, BUT WE’RE NOT OUT OF THE WOODS YET
As of this morning, the average level on Lake Nipissing dropped to 196.43m, a decline of nearly 3cm since yesterday morning and an average decline of 2cm per day over the last five days.
My group and I arrive in 11 days, talked to the camp owner last night and she said although things are (very) high people are still heading in to fish. I know I won't really know until I get there.
For the sake of all those impacted by this, I hope things are turning for the better.

Water level looks to be down about 12 to 14cm but wind can definitely skew the data. The level is getting better but most docks are still underwater. Lots got damaged in the winds Sunday and Monday also. Attached is a picture showing the lake level over the last month taken at the French River before the dams.

The 60 km wind gusts out of the NW Sunday and Monday morning took a toll on Nipissing's south shore. Callander took a pounding...water levels on the main lake are down since last Wednesday but nowhere near safe non damage levels...that will take weeks yet. Many exposed and shallow reefs are completely covered by water...will likely cause a few navigation problems for non wary boaters for a while. The damage is extensive. There's approximately two dozen docks in our bay...a couple were enormous docks...there's only about 8-10 still standing after Monday. A 1000 lb section of someone else's dock rolled into our bay and drifted by Monday...I have no idea where it ended up. Looks like a shipwreck along big sections of our shoreline.

Definitley lots of damage in South Bay as well. I see damage on every dock in my area. Even to one across from us on an island that was sheltered from the wind. It is I-beam construction anchored to the bed rock. Another neighbours dock is just above water now but it was so far out of the water normally that you almost needed a ladder to get down into a boat. All others are still under water. As Grumpa said high winds will still cause damage.

Neil and Grumpa,
I know we are chatting about the Lake here, but its got me wondering..
Please forgive my ignorance on how the French River is impacted by the dams... Would you have any thoughts on what the Wolseley bay area might be experiencing right now?
I've only ever heard bits and bobs of information on how the water level is managed... Very interested to learn some more from you guys.
We normally come late June try out all the lures I've been suckered into buying during the off season, but we have shied away this month.

Does anyone know what the French River water levels are like? I have a cottage rented for the 2nd week in July. And the forecast seems to show a lot more rain to come.
