90% of my fishing is done from a canoe, I absolutely love the stealthiness of that style. My canoe is a 14ft squareback freighter, I can stand up and walk front to back pretty easily so I never worry about tipping, and it feels like a casting deck in a boat. As for trolling, I got my legs holding the fishing rod, no holder for me. She is heavy at about 90lbs so portaging is not for the weak, but definitely makes up for it in comfort and stability.

Sounds like you've got a great canoe there. I always find it a little awkward to have the rod between my legs but I have definitely done it many times. With the rod holder you have keep a close eye on it. It was brought up in another forum that what I list as the legal requirements for a canoe is actually more than is legally required. For anyone's info here's the regs: "Canoes• Kayaks• Rowboats• Rowing Shells• Other Human-Powered Boats
1.One (1) lifejacket or PFD foreach person on board 2.One (1) reboarding device (See Note 1) 3.One (1) buoyant heaving line at least 15 m (49’3”) long
If boat is over 6 m
4.One (1) watertight flashlight 5.Six (6) flares of Type A, B, C or D, only two (2) can be Type D.(See Note 2) 6.One (1) bailer OROne manual bilge pump (See Note 3) OR Bilge-pumping arrangements 7.One (1) sound-signalling device or appliance 8.Navigation lights(See Note 4) 9.One (1) magnetic compass(See Note 5) 10.One (1) radar reflector
Note 1: *If everyone on board is wearing a lifejacket or a PFD of appropriate size, you are only required to carry : 1) a sound-signalling device; and. 2) a watertight flashlight if the boat is used after sunset or before sunrise or in periods of restricted visibility. "

I like the swivel seat idea.
I remember seeing some dudes on the Humber river in Toronto who somehow fit reclining chairs into a canoe.

Love the vids, keep them comming, by the way do you work ?
I'll be up on the 16th for 5days staying on the west end of the lake on East Harwood island , wife has family up there.
No matter how hard I try to win the lottery I have yet to succeed in achieving that goal. As a result I have to work to live. I work with people with disabilities and have done so for 20 years. Right now I work nights which has given me lots of down time where I edit my videos.
