With the Colman ya not the buddy heater but the buddy heaters are not reliable at all but we lived lol with the Colman for one night. The buddy heater dose not burn the last 1/4-1/8 of the tank if itís cold

I found out when my big buddy shut off and would not turn on... I needed to air out the hut. It has a built in Oxygen Depletion Sensor ODS. Once I aired out the hut... she turn back on.

More of an adventure than a trip, sounds like you had a great time with some decent fish caught despite the harsh weather conditions. Kudos to you for making it the whole week

Hard core indeed! Isn't an alarm supposed togo off when the oxygen gets depleted? (I don't have 1 so I don't know). I assume you were only using the Coleman when you awake.

Sounds like you need to upgrade to the 25 pound tank for those kind of trips. Awesome pics !

Just curious what your set up was for accommodations on the ice. What thermal pop-up did you use and Did it hold up in the cold weather.

That is indeed quite the adventure and I'm glad it all worked out even though there were some complications

AS for the Big Buddy heater issue, I can only add that I never had and issue with mine unless the temps got close to minus 40

I'm glad you thought of bringing a back up system

If you plan to do this on a regular basis you may want to consider getting a vented propane furnace, such as Cosy cove as an example... O course you would need to modify your roof or side a bit to allow pipe exit, but ou will be warm

Congrats on an epic outing
