Not a fishy fish for eating...and I think that's why kids tend to like them more than trout and salmon. Perch is the same for kids...not much fishy taste. I find WF to be in general a bit less aggressive than lakers overall so a bit more difficult to catch (sometimes, they can be downright frustrating). I have been trying to help some fishing buddies try to catch their first WF and it's been p###### them off that they use the same bait, fish the same location and so far, all they have done is watch me pull in WF. Some people find the first one to be the most difficult and then...well, I would like to say that it's easy but...I think I can say that it seems like it gets easier after the first. Keep trying and one day you may hit one of those days where your presentation and baits really won't matter and the fish are on a feeding binge and eat anything reasonable you put down there. Then you may get the bug too
