Hey fellas. My awesome girlfriend bought me a fish camera for ice fishing for Christmas. It has a ring of lights around the camera. I’m wondering if this is considered luring fish with light.. I hope not I really want to try this thing and use it with my new fish finder. Merry Christmas boys and happy new year.

Like they said. Not a problem.
Been carded by MNR many times with my camera. They usually stand and watch with you for a few minutes. Never mentioned a word about anything like that.

Those lights you see around camera are infra red lighting. They are not bright lights. They are used for low level lighting. I have camera and the darker the environment the better the infra red system works. You can see great. And all legal

You will need the lights for sure on the tea stain water in Nip. I dont take mine anymore it only shows the fish that are close and then it is only eye shine.. But by all means give it a try. Long time Aqua Vu user.

Thanks for the reply. Figured as much. It’s more for clear water like Simcoe but we’re going to give it a shot. Maybe I can get a couple nice shots on it.

Even with the lights you’ll have a hard time seeing anything on Nippissing. It’s pretty stained. They are lots of fun on clear lakes!

They add a whole new dimension to ice fishing. You can learn a lot about how fish react to your baits and presentations...I haven't fished Nip in years but I use mine every outing here in AB where I moved to a decade ago...
