Accessed Cooch from Tudhope today. Shoreline is definitely breaking up and getting soft. After walking most of the shoreline we figured the beach was the best access. With only one stuck and a bit of winching we got both ATVS on the good ice and set off to fish.

Found a lot of perch but bite was slow. Ended up with 7 eaters before the rain chased us away. Weather map showed heavy rains coming around noon so we packed up at 11 and headed for shore. The only other group that made the trek out this morning said they also had a slow bite.

Getting back on shore was much easier. Good thing, because my drill and clam plate had come off so I had to run all the way back out nearly to where we were fishing to pick it up.

Ice was surpassingly good, solid 10-12" of black under 3" white.

Sounds like there is still a bit of fishing to go, esp. for walking out. Too bad the fishing was slow though. Lots of rain and still more now and then later tonight. Hoping the shore up here survives until Monday and then the cold temps will harden things up for another couple of days of fishing and that may be it for me.
